Julie came with me, my two sisters, Mum and Dad to Butlins in the early 1950s. She and I shared a chalet next door to my parents and two younger sisters, where she spent some time getting rid of spiders for me. I didn't remember about the spiders, Julie told me this more recently. I only have vague memories of that time, but fortunately my parents took and kept photographs which I have attached. Although we all lived in Sydenham it's sad to have to say that we didn't see a lot of each other. As far as I can remember Julie started work in a Bank. Our mum was impressed by this achievement and wanted us three girls to do the same, which we eventually did. In that way I suppose she was something of a role model, being a few years older than us. Julie and I did speak on the phone in more recent years and we had a good old chat. Although I don't have many memories of Julie, they are all nice ones.
